Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland. He also owned a Dublin business. Maureen was the second of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sporting games in her youth and was a pro in athletics. Additionally, she had a gift for acting. In the end, she won the majority of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances in her home country. At age 14, she had been admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study the art of opera and classical theatre.
